StartupFeed Quick Take

  • Harajuku Tokyo Cafe raised $3 Mn in a pre-Series A round led by Zero W, announced on October 23, 2026.
  • The chain plans 10 new outlets in two quarters, and its first stores in Bengaluru and Chandigarh.
  • Its seed plan of 90 outlets across 20 cities by 2027 now points to about 24.

Delhi-based Harajuku Tokyo Cafe has raised $3 Mn in a pre-Series A round led by Zero W, the chain said on October 23, 2026.

Harajuku Tokyo Cafe’s statement of October 23 puts the raise at 1.5 times its $2 Mn seed round of August 2025. Outlet count and revenue have both doubled since then.

That leaves a gap. Harajuku Tokyo Cafe had seven outlets in August 2025 and promised 90 across 20 cities by 2027. Ten more would take it to about 24.

Two revenue numbers now sit on the record. The seed plan set Rs 200 crore or more by 2027. The goal for this financial year is Rs 100 crore.

Existing backers Indian Angel Network and Samved VC put in more money. New names include Blume Founders Fund, the Brijesh Parekh Family Office and Rahul Jain, who co-founded Epigamia.

Gaurav Kanwar, founder and chief executive of Harajuku Tokyo Cafe, put it this way:

“We aim to achieve INR 100 crore in revenue this financial year.”

What Harajuku Tokyo Cafe Promised at Seed Stage

Harajuku Tokyo Cafe raised Rs 19 crore in August 2025 and said it would reach 90 outlets across 20 cities by 2027. Revenue was to cross Rs 200 crore in the same year.

Indian Angel Network and Samved VC led that round. LetsVenture joined it. So did Capitar Ventures, a venture debt firm.

The chain had seven outlets then, all in Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Annual recurring revenue was above Rs 30 crore.

It had also signed letters of intent for 15 sites in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Ludhiana and Chandigarh. Ludhiana does not appear in the new plan. Bengaluru does.

Mumbai opened in July 2025 at Jio World Drive in BKC, with a 72-seat cafe and bar beside a 12-seat bakehouse. Mumbai now brings 25% of revenue.

The seed plan carried two more lines. One was a packaged foods brand, KoiKoi Essentials, selling ramen kits, sauces and frozen meals. The other was franchise talks in the UAE.

Neither KoiKoi Essentials nor the UAE appears in the October 2026 statement.

Where the 10 New Outlets Will Open

The 10 outlets will open over the next two quarters in Delhi NCR and Mumbai, with first stores in Bengaluru and Chandigarh. Harajuku Tokyo Cafe has never traded in either city.

Two central kitchens are due by December 2026, in Mumbai and Bengaluru. They will supply Harajuku Bakehouse stores.

Harajuku Tokyo Cafe says its outlet count has doubled since August 2025, when it had seven. We make that about 14 today.

Its dine-in format lists four addresses: Select Citywalk in Saket, Ambience Mall and M3M IFC in Gurugram, and Jio World Drive in Mumbai.

Two quarters from October 2026 run out in March 2027. That is also the close of this financial year, the one carrying the Rs 100 crore goal.

The Bakehouse Now Carries a Third of Revenue

Harajuku Bakehouse brings in more than 30% of total revenue. It is the quick-service arm, selling Japanese breads, desserts and savoury snacks.

In Delhi NCR it sells more than 1,000 loaves of bread a week on Blinkit. Across dine-in and delivery, Harajuku Tokyo Cafe handles more than 1,000 orders a day.

The bakery is going into more metro cities. The two central kitchens will supply its stores, and make packaged food for western and southern India.

At seed stage the bakehouse share was not disclosed. Fourteen months on it is above 30%, and the format sells on quick commerce as well as in malls.

A bakery item travels further than a sushi counter. It needs no 72-seat room and no mall footfall.

What the Registrar of Companies Shows

Craftpac Hospitality Private Limited runs Harajuku Tokyo Cafe. The company was incorporated on November 9, 2024 at the Registrar of Companies in Delhi.

Its registered office is at Greater Kailash-II in New Delhi. Authorised capital is Rs 15.5 lakh. Paid-up capital is about Rs 1 lakh.

Its corporate identity number is U55101DL2024PTC438573. MCA lists the main line of business as accommodation, not restaurants.

MCA records also show open charges of Rs 10 crore as on September 7, 2025. A charge is security that a lender registers against a borrower. Two directors were on the board on that date.

The brand dates to 2021. The company behind it is not yet two years old, so no full year of audited accounts covers the chain at its present size.

What this means for you: If you run a food or drink chain raising a pre-Series A round, this is the benchmark you will be measured against. Build the central kitchen before you promise the store count, and check Blinkit as a channel before you sign your next mall lease.

StartupFeed Insight

This round is a bridge, not a growth round. Harajuku Tokyo Cafe raised 1.5 times its seed cheque 14 months later, while its outlet plan moved from 90 by 2027 to about 24. The money is going into two central kitchens, which is where unit economics in Indian food chains are won or lost. Rs 10 crore of registered charges also sits on the operating company. Watch the Bengaluru central kitchen. If it is not running by December 31, 2026, the Bengaluru and Chandigarh store openings slip to the second half of 2027.
