That is Apple’s most expensive iPhone ever. The top 2TB version costs Rs 4,49,900. India TV News and Latestly both listed the same four India prices on launch day.
For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max started at Rs 1,49,900 last year. The iPhone Duo base model costs almost twice that. Apple has set a new price ceiling for its own lineup.

Here is the full India price list, as reported on launch day.
| Storage | Price in India | US Price |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB | Rs 2,99,900 | $1,999 |
| 512GB | Rs 3,24,900 | $2,199 |
| 1TB | Rs 3,74,900 | $2,599 |
| 2TB | Rs 4,49,900 | $3,199 |
The device comes in two colours. Apple lists them as Star White and Night Sky.
It is an eSIM-only phone. There is no physical SIM tray on the iPhone Duo.
What are the iPhone Duo specs?
The iPhone Duo runs on Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, built on a 2nm process. It ships with the redesigned iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence.
The phone uses a dual-battery system. Apple said its foldable offers among the longest battery life in any iPhone.
The camera is a 48MP Dual Fusion system. It pairs a 48MP main camera with a 48MP ultra-wide camera.
The outer cover screen measures 5.4 inches. The inner folding display measures 7.6 inches. Apple designed the inner panel to reduce the visible crease.
When can you buy the iPhone Duo in India?
Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo are reported to open on October 16, 2026. Deliveries are set to start from October 23, 2026.
The foldable does not go on sale with the rest of the range. Apple is launching the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max first, from September 18.
Financial Express reported the India pre-order timing. Apple India’s own store page is the figure to confirm before you plan a purchase.
What does the iPhone Duo mean for India supply chains?
The iPhone Duo’s core parts come from outside India. Samsung Display supplies the folding panel. TSMC in Taiwan makes the A20 Pro chip.
India’s role here is assembly and later-stage work, not the high-value foldable display. That gap is the real story for local electronics firms.
India now assembles many standard iPhone models through Foxconn and Tata Electronics. A foldable is harder. The hinge and flexible screen need tighter tolerances than a flat phone.
For an Indian components or D2C accessories founder, the opening is clear. A Rs 3 lakh phone needs cases, screen protection and insurance built for a folding design. That market did not exist here last week.
What this means for you: If you build phone accessories or after-sales services, start designing for a folding form factor now, before the October sale opens.
StartupFeed Insight
The iPhone Duo’s price does more than set a record. At Rs 2,99,900, it drags the whole premium ceiling up and gives every rival room to charge more. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold now looks cheap by comparison. The bigger point is local: India assembles flat iPhones well, but the foldable panel and hinge still sit with Samsung and TSMC. Watch whether Tata Electronics wins any foldable assembly by 2027. If it does not, the “Made in India” story stays stuck on last year’s phones while the premium money moves abroad.
