Bengaluru-based spacetech startup Kepler Aerospace has raised $8 million in a seed round led by Blue Ashva Capital. Finvolve India Accelerator and other investors also joined.

Kepler Aerospace shared the news in a press release on September 1, 2026. The company builds space and ground systems for strategic, defence and commercial missions.

The money will fund next-generation space-based ISR systems. ISR stands for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Kepler Aerospace will also scale its mission operations and avionics-as-a-service businesses.

The startup was founded in July 2018 by Navneet Singh and Kiran Sharma. Its work spans satellite avionics, subsystems, ground infrastructure, mission operations and space-based intelligence.

Kepler Aerospace wants to cut intelligence latency from months to minutes. It plans to do this through persistent ISR systems and integrated mission infrastructure.

The company says it has won two IDEX prime contracts. These cover swarming ISR constellations for India’s defence space ecosystem. The contracts are backed by around $4 million in grants under the IDEX programme.

Kepler Aerospace runs a network of more than 70 ground stations. These handle satellite communication, tracking, telemetry, command and mission operations.

The timing fits a fast-growing sector. India had about 440 space-tech startups registered as of August 2026, as the country’s private space economy matures.

Other players are raising bigger rounds. Digantara, a space surveillance firm, raised $50 million in a Series B. Dhruva Space, Pixxel, GalaxEye, OrbitAID and InspeCity are also building across the space infrastructure layer.

What this means for you: Defence-linked space startups are pulling in early money, so founders in dual-use hardware now have a clearer funding path to point investors toward.
