The Chhattisgarh Cabinet has approved a Rs 500 crore Chief Minister Startup and NIPUN Mission for the state’s youth. The mission runs over the next five years.
The decision came at a Cabinet meeting on September 9, 2026. It was chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The same meeting cleared the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026-30.
The mission will set up Entrepreneurship Development Centres in all 33 districts. It will also build 100 Emerging Technology Labs and 5 Industry Excellence Centres.
These centres will help young people build ideas, learn new skills and start ventures inside their own districts. The aim is to reach founders in smaller towns, not just the state capital.
Training will run through a NIPUN JOB Engine. This matches skill development to what local industry actually needs. One official gave an example: if a firm needs 500 trained workers with a specific skill, the training is aligned to that demand.
The stated goal is to turn young people from job seekers into job creators. The government wants to position Chhattisgarh as a hub for startups, innovation and technology-based industry.
The Export Promotion Policy 2026-30 is the second big decision. It aims to make Chhattisgarh a significant export hub. The policy targets value-added farm and industrial products for international markets.
The policy will build export and logistics infrastructure and improve market access for exporters. It will use e-commerce platforms, trade fairs and exhibitions to connect local businesses with overseas buyers.
The Rs 500 crore figure is not new to this Cabinet meeting. The Startup and Nipun Mission was one of five missions announced in the February 2026 state Budget, each set at about Rs 100 crore a year for five years. This week’s decision moves it from Budget line to approved mission.
What this means for you: Founders in Chhattisgarh should track when the 33 district centres and the NIPUN JOB Engine open for registration, as that is where the funding and training support will flow.
