Pixxel established its US subsidiary to pursue government opportunities in defence, intelligence and earth observation, following its September 2026 Series C.

StartupFeed Quick Take

  • Pixxel has set up a dedicated US subsidiary, Pixxel Federal, to win US government work.
  • Allyson Jenkins, who has led Pixxel’s US business since January 2025, is its chief executive.
  • The move follows a $100 Mn Series C in September that took total funding to $195 Mn.

Bengaluru spacetech firm Pixxel said on October 29 it has set up a dedicated US subsidiary, Pixxel Federal, to chase US government contracts.

The move follows Pixxel’s $100 Mn Series C in September, co-led by Singapore’s Temasek and UK firm Seraphim. Pixxel calls it India’s largest spacetech funding round. The round nearly doubled total funding, from about $95 Mn to $195 Mn.

What Pixxel Federal Will Do

The new unit will sell earth-observation data, satellite systems and analytics to US civilian, defence and intelligence agencies. It plans an office near Washington, DC, to sit closer to those buyers.

Allyson Jenkins runs the new unit as chief executive. She has led Pixxel’s US government business since January 2025, after 17 years in US geospatial intelligence.

Awais Ahmed, Pixxel’s co-founder and chief executive, set out the US goal when the NRO first signed the company:

“We are fully committed to this fantastic opportunity to offer our imaging capabilities to the organisation, its partners, and the US geospatial intelligence community.”

Pixxel Federal is not starting cold. Its team already handles Pixxel’s US contracts. Those include a NASA earth-science data deal and a five-year contract with the National Reconnaissance Office, the US spy-satellite agency.

That record is its pitch.

The twist is that Pixxel serves both governments at once. Through IN-SPACe, India’s space regulator, it is building the country’s first public-private fleet of 12 earth-observation satellites. The US arm chases defence and NASA money at the same time.

What this means for you: If you run an Indian spacetech or defence-tech startup, Pixxel Federal is the clearest template yet for selling to the US government. Watch whether a US subsidiary and a local hire become the price of entry before you budget your next export push.
