StartupFeed Quick Take

  • Parsec Aerospace, a stealth Bengaluru aerospace-engine startup, is in talks to raise about $10 Mn, Inc42 reported on October 27.
  • Nexus Venture Partners is leading the round, with existing backer Lightspeed Venture Partners tipped to join.
  • The startup was incorporated only in September 2025, with no public product, revenue or customer details.

Parsec Aerospace, a stealth aerospace-engine startup in Bengaluru, is in talks to raise about $10 Mn, led by Nexus Venture Partners.

Inc42 reported the talks on October 27, citing unnamed sources, and said existing investor Lightspeed Venture Partners is expected to join. Neither Parsec Aerospace nor Nexus had responded to the report by the time it went out.

The founder, Effy John, earlier worked as an engineer at Pixxel, the Bengaluru startup behind hyperspectral Earth-imaging satellites. Pixxel raised a $100 Mn Series C earlier this year, the largest spacetech round in India so far.

Parsec Aerospace itself is still in stealth. Much is still unknown about its engine technology, its customers or how it will spend the money.

Parsec Aerospace and India’s Deep-Tech Funding Wave

The talks come as money flows back into Indian deep-tech. Startups in the sector raised $290 Mn across 28 deals in the third quarter of 2026.

That is up from $105 Mn a year earlier, a rise of about 2.8 times, even as the deal count edged down. Aerospace and propulsion names have taken a slice of that.

D-Propulse Aerospace drew Rs 25 Cr from IAN Alpha Fund this year to build propulsion systems. Aeron Systems raised Rs 45 Cr in a pre-Series B round in September.

What makes the Parsec Aerospace round stand out is its stage. That is unusual. The company has no product, no disclosed revenue and no named customers, yet two big funds want to back Parsec Aerospace.

Lightspeed, which is tipped to join the new round, was also an early backer of Pixxel. Investors are writing dollar cheques into Indian aerospace engines well before those engines have proven themselves.

What this means for you: If you are a founder raising for a pre-revenue deep-tech or space startup, Parsec Aerospace shows top funds will still back stealth teams. Watch whether this round actually closes and at what size, since the $10 Mn figure is still only reported and unconfirmed by the companies.
