  • Amazon Now is live in more than 120 Indian cities, twice its September reach
  • Broker apps must show risk warnings from November 1, SEBI says
  • Udaipur hiring rose 19% in September, against 4% in Bengaluru

The Morning Five for Friday, October 2, 2026: what happened in Indian startups since yesterday.

1. Amazon Now doubles its reach to 120 cities

Amazon Now is live in more than 120 Indian cities, twice its reach two weeks ago. The newsroom post from Amazon India names 11 new towns, among them Amritsar, Jalandhar, Kochi, Bhubaneswar and Vizag. Close to 800 small warehouses now feed the service.

Who should care: Kirana owners and quick commerce staff in Amritsar, Kochi and Bhubaneswar, where Amazon Now arrived this week.

2. SEBI sets November 1 for risk warnings on broker apps

Every stock broker app in India must show risk warnings from November 1. The SEBI circular of October 1 asks broker websites to carry the messages from October 5, and apps may start early. From November 1 the warnings appear on alternate days.

Who should care: Product and compliance heads at Zerodha, Groww, Upstox and every other broker app, because the first screen must change by November 1.

3. Naukri JobSpeak puts Udaipur hiring up 19%

Hiring in Udaipur grew 19% in September, faster than in any metro city in India. The Naukri JobSpeak report for September puts Chandigarh at 18%, Ludhiana at 13% and Amritsar at 13%. Bengaluru managed 4%, Mumbai 6% and Hyderabad 9%.

Who should care: Job seekers and HR heads in Tier 2 cities, where white collar hiring is now growing faster than in Bengaluru.

4. Samsung prices the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra at Rs 1,49,999

Samsung has priced the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra at Rs 1,49,999 for the Wi-Fi model with 256GB. The top 5G model with 512GB costs Rs 1,84,999, and the smaller Tab S12+ starts at Rs 1,29,999. Sales open on October 7, says Samsung India’s launch post.

Who should care: Students and office workers picking a tablet before the festive sales, because the first discounts land on October 7.

5. AITMC Ventures files IPO papers, profit down 17%

AITMC Ventures, a Gurgaon drone and training firm, has filed IPO papers with SEBI. The draft prospectus of September 30 shows profit down 17% in FY26, to Rs 13.4 Cr, on revenue up 22% at Rs 106.8 Cr. Borrowings rose 62% to Rs 42.2 Cr.

Who should care: Drone founders and IPO investors, because a profitable drone and training company is going public while its profit falls.

That’s all for this morning. See you tomorrow.
