The Morning Five for Tuesday, October 6, 2026: what happened in Indian startups since yesterday.

1. Razorpay opens ChatGPT Ads to 9 Indian brands

Razorpay said on October 5 that its growth marketing platform, Razorpay Engage, will run ChatGPT Ads campaigns for Indian businesses, with OpenAI. Nine brands are testing it already.

They include Tanishq, Rivaah by Tanishq, Tata Neu, Fastrack, Traya, Shaadi.com, Palmonas, Axis Max Life and NMIMS. OpenAI opened ChatGPT Ads buying in India on August 31.

Who should care: If you sell direct to consumers, there is now an Indian onboarding route to ChatGPT Ads, so check whether your catalogue is ready.

2. Marico pays Rs 1,012 Cr for more of Plix

Marico bought another 24.09% of Satiya Nutraceuticals, the Mumbai company behind the Plix brand, for Rs 1,012.03 Cr in cash on October 5. Its holding is now 84.09%, and the exchange filing puts the total outlay at Rs 1,392.07 Cr.

The remaining 14.09% follows in July 2027. Plix turnover doubled to Rs 864.31 Cr in FY26.

Who should care: If you run a D2C brand, the new price mark is Rs 1,392 Cr for 84% of a Rs 864 Cr business.

3. RentoMojo profit falls 38.6% in its first listed quarter

RentoMojo, the Bengaluru rental company, reported net profit of Rs 7.8 Cr for the June quarter, down 38.6% from Rs 12.8 Cr. Revenue rose 51.1% to Rs 126.3 Cr.

Against the March quarter, profit more than halved from Rs 16.8 Cr. Its first results as a listed company carry a one-time loss of Rs 11.4 Cr from a warehouse fire.

Who should care: If you hold RentoMojo stock, a Rs 11.4 Cr fire loss drove the fall, and management takes questions at 4 pm today.

4. TVS Automobile Solutions raises Rs 425 Cr from a UAE investor

TVS Automobile Solutions, the Chennai company behind the myTVS garage brand, raised Rs 425 Cr on October 5. CE-Invests, the investment arm of Crescent Enterprises in the UAE, led the Series D round.

The company statement puts the round at $45 Mn. myTVS runs over 1,000 garages and 10,000 retailers across India, and the money funds its first move into the UAE.

Who should care: If you supply parts or software to garages, myTVS now has Rs 425 Cr to spend on India and its first UAE sites.

5. Flipkart buys into TravClan and its 15,000 travel agents

Flipkart, the Bengaluru marketplace, took a minority stake in TravClan on October 5. Neither side gave the amount.

TravClan’s platform lets over 15,000 travel agents build and book holiday packages in real time. Flipkart’s announcement says that supply will widen international holiday packages on Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel.

Who should care: If you sell outbound holiday packages, Cleartrip is about to list more of them, sourced through TravClan’s agent network.

That’s all for this morning. See you tomorrow.
