StartupFeed Quick Take
- Vikhyat Maini started working at 16 and now runs Viktaara Entertainment, an event and production company in Delhi.
- His first job was an internship paying Rs 10,000 a month, with a commute of about 45 km each way.
- Two more ventures are in progress: Sarvvgunn Weddings, aimed at budget-conscious families, and Vikpure, a packaged drinking water brand.
Vikhyat Maini runs Viktaara Entertainment, a Delhi event and production company that works on weddings, concerts, corporate shows and political events.
He is building in a market the capital runs on. A study by the CAIT Research and Trade Development Society put Delhi’s 2025 wedding season at Rs 1.8 lakh crore across 4.8 lakh weddings.
The wider sector is growing with it. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry, in a statement on October 7, 2026, put the growth of India’s live events business at 44%. It counted about 34,000 events in that period.
Maini says he is also a partner, investor or advisor in more than 10 other businesses.
From a Rs 10,000 Internship to His Own Company
Maini started working at 16. His first job was an internship that paid Rs 10,000 a month. The travel ran close to 45 km each way.
He lost his mother in April 2021. He says that year set the direction for everything that followed. He worked through event management, public relations and marketing roles before starting out on his own.
Those jobs taught him the parts of the business that never reach the stage: vendor lists, budgets, permissions and client handling. Viktaara Entertainment grew out of that work and the contacts built along the way.
The advisory work came later. That count of more than 10 businesses comes from his written submission to StartupFeed, dated October 2026. He says he mentors founders and backs early ventures where it fits.
On why he does that second job at all, Maini put it this way:
“I believe that helping other founders build sustainable businesses is just as meaningful as building my own.”

What Viktaara Entertainment Does, and Who It Works With
Viktaara Entertainment sells an end-to-end service. The company takes the planning brief and also runs the production on the ground, instead of handing the build to a third party.
The work splits across six lines: weddings, corporate functions, concerts and live shows, large public events, Dandiya nights and political events. Three of those six are seasonal, which shapes the cash cycle of any event firm in north India.
Maini says the client list has included companies, celebrities, politicians and premium venues. He also says the firm serves middle-income families and affluent households on the same terms. That is an unusual claim in a trade that normally picks one end of the market.
The company has not published revenue, headcount or an annual event count. Those numbers are the standard test of scale in this business, and StartupFeed has asked for them.
Alongside the commercial work, Maini says Viktaara Entertainment works with NGOs across Delhi NCR. The company runs food and clothing drives and community welfare events, and sponsors some of them at no charge. He lists more than 10,000 followers on LinkedIn.
The Market Vikhyat Maini Is Betting On
Live events are the fastest growing part of India’s media and entertainment business. The sector now supports more than one crore livelihoods. The target set for it is to double in size by 2030, with 15 to 20 million direct and ancillary jobs.
The licensing side is being rebuilt at the same time. A single window clearance portal for live events is being rolled out on the India Cine Hub platform. States have been asked to name nodal officers and move the full licence cycle online.
For an operator, that is the difference between chasing several departments and filing in one place.
Weddings sit inside the same number, and Delhi is the biggest single market. Nationally, the 2025 season produced Rs 6.5 lakh crore across 46 lakh weddings. The capital’s Rs 1.8 lakh crore is more than a quarter of that, from one city.
| Season | Weddings | Business |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 32 lakh | Rs 3.75 lakh crore |
| 2023 | 38 lakh | Rs 4.74 lakh crore |
| 2024 | 48 lakh | Rs 5.90 lakh crore |
| 2025 | 46 lakh | Rs 6.50 lakh crore |
Read the last two rows together. The 2025 season had two lakh fewer weddings than 2024 and produced Rs 60,000 crore more business. Spending per wedding is rising even when the count falls.
What Comes Next: Sarvvgunn Weddings and Vikpure
Sarvvgunn Weddings is the first of the two new ventures. It is aimed at middle-class and budget-conscious families who want premium planning at a price they can actually carry.
Maini says the method is to hold the standard of a big-budget wedding and cut the cost by standardising vendors and packages. No price band has been published yet.
The logic of the segment is sound. Delhi’s 4.8 lakh weddings are not 4.8 lakh crore-rupee weddings, and the volume sits well below the top end of that table.
The second venture is Vikpure, a packaged drinking water brand that has not launched. Maini says it will compete on quality and price.
The rules in that category changed recently. The compulsory BIS ISI mark for packaged drinking water was withdrawn with effect from October 17, 2024. From January 1, 2026, packaged water sits in the high-risk food category and needs monthly testing at accredited labs, with third-party audits.
That shifts the cost of entry from a one-time certificate to a running compliance bill. Neither new venture has a launch date on record.
What this means for you: If you are booking a wedding, a concert or a corporate event in Delhi NCR this season, Viktaara Entertainment is one more firm to shortlist. Maini takes enquiries on WhatsApp at +91 70655 99111.
